From Science Daily. Researchers from the Astrophysical Institute of the Canary Islands, led by Susana Iglesias, have detected naphtalene, a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, in an interstellar cloud some 700 lightyears away from us. This finding suggests that these materials were probably also present at the formation of the Solar System and Earth, facilitating the formation of life.
