Jewish boat to attempt to breach the siege of Gaza

A small (10 m long) catamaran with pro-Palestinian activists of Jewish ethnicity has set sail from Cyprus in yet another attempt to breach the siege of the macro-camp for displaced persons in South Palestine. The boat, named Irene, carries fishing nets in a nonviolent act of defiance against Zionist apartheid, 8 crew members and two journalists.

Reuven Moskovitz, an Holocaust survivor, 82, declared:

It is a sacred duty for me, as a survivor, to protest against the persecution, the oppression and the imprisonment of so many people in Gaza, including more than 800,000 children.

He also said: we are two peoples but we have one future.

The crew of the Irene

The crew members are:

  • Reuven Moskowitz, Israeli citizen. Founder of unsegregated village Neve Shalom – Wahat al Salaam (Oasis of Peace). He is an Holocaust survivor.
  • Rami Elhanan, Israeli citizen. Lost his daughter Smadar in a suicide bombing in 1997 and is founding member of Bereaved Families Circle of Israelis and Palestinians (association of victims of the conflict).
  • Lilian Rosengarten, US citizen. Peace activist and psychotherapost. She is a refugee from Nazi persecution.
  • Yonatan Shapira, Israeli citizen. Former military pilot and member of Combatants for Peace.
  • Glyn Secker, British citizen. He is the boat captain and a member of Jews for Justice for Palestinians Executive Commitee.
  • Edith Lutz, German citizen. She is peace activist and a nurse. She was in the first boat to Gaza in 2008.
  • Itamar Shapira, Israeli citizen. Yonatan's brother.
The two journalists are Eli Osherov, from Israeli Channel 10 News, and Vish Vishvanath, freelance photographer and reporter.

More information at Jewish Boat to Gaza and also at the support organizations:
See also news items at Al Jazeera and BBC.

Update: somewhat anecdotally, Jews sans frontieres mentions today that Marion Kozak, mother of the two confronted Labor party leaders Ed and David Miliband, is among the 1600 signatories supporting the boat, whose names will be displayed in colorful banners by the crew, as member of Jews for Justice for Palestinians. She is a veteran left wing and Labor Party militant.

Update (Sep 28): Israel has taken the boat today. Not yet known whether in international or Gaza waters, in another illegal action in any case. The boat flies British flag so this is technically an act of war against the United Kingdom.

Physicians for Human Rights has asked for access to the kidnapped crew, as at least one of them is known to have a chronic illness and needs medical care.

UN: Zionist attack against Mavi Marmara broke International Law: summary executions and torture

What we all knew already but it is always good to see it ratified by an international institution such as the UN Human Rights Council.

The report also said that there was clear evidence to prosecute Israeli criminals under article 174 of the Geneva Convention for the charges of: willful killing, torture or inhuman treatment and willfully causing great suffering or serious injury to body or health.

The Mission considers that several violations and offences have been committed. It is not satisfied that, in the time available, it can say that it has been able to compile a comprehensive list of all offences. However, there is clear evidence to support prosecutions of the following crimes within the terms of article 147 of the Fourth Geneva Convention:
  • wilful killing;
  • torture or inhuman treatment;
  • wilfully causing great suffering or serious injury to body or health.
The Mission also considers that a series of violations of Israel’s obligations under international human rights law have taken place, including:
  • right to life (article 6, ICCPR);
  • torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment (article 7, ICCPR; CAT);
  • right to liberty and security of the person and freedom from arbitrary arrest or detention (article 9, ICCPR)
  • right of detainees to be treated with humanity and respect for the inherent dignity of the human person (article 10, ICCPR);
  • freedom of expression (article 19, ICCPR).
The right to an effective remedy should be guaranteed to all victims. The mission must not be understood to be saying that this is a comprehensive list by any means.
266. The Mission notes that the retention by the Israeli authorities of unlawfully seized property remains a continuing offence and Israel is called upon to return such property forthwith.

The report also hopes that Israel will cooperate in handing the perpetrators of these crimes and compensating the victims adequately and promptly. But they regret the lack of cooperation by Israel.

They also state that:

All the passengers on board the ships comprising the flotilla who appeared before the Mission impressed the members as persons genuinely committed to the spirit of humanitarianism and imbued with a deep and genuine concern for the welfare of the inhabitants of Gaza.

I am Israel (video - documentary)

Not long, dynamic and very explanatory video on what is wrong with Israel (if you had still any doubt). It is available in several languages (version here in English).

The fact that it can explain so much in so little time really shows why Israel and its Lobby cannot win even the propaganda war: because truth defends itself and does it with relative ease, because it's too easy to identify the racist, colonialist and genocidal nature of this abhorrent polity.

Found at Justice, posted at YouTube by Jihano92, original site: I am Israel.

Anarchists Against the Wall

I've just now come to know of this nonviolent movement of Israeli anarchists and other anti-Zionists against the wall of shame that Israel has set to enforce apartheid in Palestine.

Looks promising, specially as they have been growing slowly but steadily along the years. With the many differences, I can hint to a parallel with the antimilitarist struggle we held in the 1980s and early 1990s against conscription in the state of Spain, which was a total success.

The keys of the success were, I understand: nonviolence, pedagogy, grassroots organization and the fact that the system was so rotten and delegitimized that it was relatively easy to pull it down. Of course people went to jail for that... but that was part of the plan.

Similarly the state of Israel and its apartheid and criminal genocide is morally bankrupt and it is just a matter of time until it falls.

This kind of struggle is what is needed in order to mend the wounds. It is important, I think, that the lead is being taken by people with no religion when it is that farce of religious sectarianism what is used as pretext for apartheid and colonization.

I am glad that it is expanding more and more.

Video: demolition of Bedouin homes... "to plant trees for Jews"

When the early eurocentric UN approved to divide Palestine in two and give more than half to a mere 30% of its residents, mostly recent arrivals from Europe, it took a most unjust and criminal decision overall but maybe it is particularly striking that nearly all the "empty quarter" of the Negev desert, which was 100% Arab, was also given to the new State of Israel.

Ethnic cleansing, genocide, wars, massacres followed... they are still our daily bread. Now the Jewish National Fund and the State of Israel are forcing Bedouins out of their traditional settlements into US-like "Indian reservations". They are technically "Israeli citizens" but that won't make a difference: they don't belong to the chosen race and hence they are an obstacle for the mad Nazi dream of Israel of a state only for Jews in the land of others.

Some historical maps of the Zionist land-grab, to help understanding of the perpetual Nakba:

Conquest and banstustanization:

Ethnic composition in 1946 (after the post WWII Jewish migrations but before partition):

Jews were then only majority in Jaffa (modern Tel Aviv urban area) and most had arrived that very year. Before WWII there were only 10% Jews in Palestine.

You can see that there were virtually no Jews south of Jerusalem but still the eurocentric UN of the time (still more than a decade until generalized decolonization) gave the projected Jewish state almost all of that region.

And now they evict the Bedouins with tax-deductible donations.

Where did all those terrorized and expelled Palestinians go?

To Jordan, Gaza, the West Bank, Syria and Lebanon, in this order. Gaza's population is made up essentially of refugees from what is now the State of Israel and their descendants. In Jordan and the West Bank registered refugees comprise 1/3 of all population, almost 1/8 in Lebanon. Others ended up in Kuwait, where they cheered Saddam Hussein's invasion (liberation?) which granted them citizenship, and yet others are scattered around the world.

Sources: Jews sans frontieres (video), Palestine Monitor (map), Public Opinion (map), Arab Though Forum (map). Some of the maps are originally from PASSIA, which has a great collection of historical maps of Palestine, which help understanding the essential crime of Israel and why this conflict has no solution while Israel is not forced to yield to the demands of the natives of Palestine.

Update: a report emphasizing the role of Israeli students, who volunteered as "police assistants", and their Nazi attitudes is available at Voltaire Net.

The evicted

and the evictors.

Feels to the Night of Broken Glass, really. But it's the daily bread at Nazi Israel.

Israel bombs Gaza murdering 12

The Israeli armed forces attacked several places in Gaza strip tonight, including Gaza city, murdering 12. One of them is said to be a leader of Hamas, the Islamist party which won the latest Palestinian elections, namely Issa Batran, 42.

I presume that all or most other victims are civilians. At this moment no figure of injured or relations of buildings or infrastructure destroyed are known to me.

Any undiscriminated attack on civilian areas and refugee camps are immoral and illegal war crimes. Furthermore there has been no provocation whatsoever that Zionists could use this time to pretend any justification for this attack, which is the first of its kind since the terrible and genocidal bombing of 2009.

Even more worrisome is the lack of apparent mention in the usual mainstream media such as BBC or Al Jazeera. I could only find reference at The Guardian.

Biden defends Israel

Never mind Israel spits on him, insults him, disrespects him...
US Vicepresident Joe Biden has rushed to defend Israel right to do what it wants in regards to Gaza.

The boot-licking attitude of US politicians towards the Zionist Project is unbelievable. I'd be deeply ashamed would I have US nationality. In fact I am deeply ashamed anyhow as human being because what affects other people affects me too and because, whatever you may believe, I have sympathy for and feel solidarious with the US people (meaning working class, of course)

The exact words were:

Israel has the absolute right to protect its security interests.

Absolute?! What the heck! What is going on here? Why Israel, a terrorist rogue racist genocidal state has absolute rights and instead the right of all others, beginning by Palestinians is relative or non-existent?

This has no name and shows how the Zionist Mafia totally controls the power resorts in the USA.

Shame... absolute shame.

But for now on, if anyone had still any doubt, we know that whatever Israel has, whenever it murders pacifists and civilians, it is doing so because the USA shamelessly and absolutely backs it.

Obama and Rahm Emanuel probably blessed the Flotilla massacre in advance

That is the opinion of Michel Chossudovski, who notes that the US Chief of Staff (Prime Minister), Rahm Emanuel, visited Israel and talked with Netanyahu just before Israel decided to intercept the Freedom Flotilla by military means in international waters, resulting in the massacre of Monday.

Full article at Global Research.

Image of the May 26 meeting (from Voltaire Net)

Emanuel, the second most powerful man in the USA (and by extension the World), is an Israeli citizen whose father was a member of terrorist and genocidal fascist organization Irgun, notorious for its attacks against civilian targets. His personal style is no better than his father's, as he is notorious for his irate and hyper-aggressive style at politics, that have gained him the nickname of Rahmbo.

He has been accused of being an Israeli secret agent.

Zionists arrest Mordechai Vanunu

Famous Israeli peace activist
Mordechai Vanunu, who in 1986 revealed the nuclear weapons program of the Jewish Theocracy has been arrested in East Jerusalem. He is accused of talking to foreigners, what shows the fascism that really exists in Israel, where dissidents are not allowed to leave nor speak freely.

Mordechai Vanunu gave an interview to Basque journalists, published in Gara in February 2009, interview that I partly translated back to English in this blog.

Israel admits organ theft from Palestinian corpses

After the clownish actuation of the pathetic neonazi Zionist minister of foreign affairs, Russian-born Avigador Liebermann, Israel had finally to admit that the Swedish newspapers who
denounced organ theft to victims of political murders by the Israeli Army is for real.

Read more at Al Jazeera (again NATO propaganda media, aka "free press", like BBC seem to silence the matter).

Israeli Apartheid: real and with legal implications worldwide

Similarly to the previous report by a South African committee, this new paper by Luciana Coconi ratifies the idea that what happens in Palestine has no other name than Apartheid, which is a crime against humankind and therefore Israeli officials and collaborators of all sorts can be prosecuted internationally anywhere on Earth.

The paper, titled Apartheid against the Palestinian people, has been published by ACSUR and is available in English, Spanish and Catalan (direct link to English PDF here).

Palestine: negotiations only a pretext for Israeli expansion

As I expected and feared,
the US government has backed from its original position of total freeze of the Zionist settlements in occupied land.

All this was since the beginning, and I mean the beginning back at Oslo, more than a decade ago, just a maneouver to gain time in order to continue the genocide.

Let's be frank with ourselves: there is no two-states solution of any kind, all is just talking about nothing while the colony expands. Just as Israel has been doing since the very beginning. Negotiation in Palestine is a dead end, a mere waste of time unless it is negotiation of the details to achieve a single state inclusive of all.

And this is not going to happen while US politics are so subservient of Israel and Global Zionism.

Israel official protest draws attention on yet another organ traffick scandal

The Judeonazi Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, Avigador Liebermann, has sparked a diplomatic row with Sweden that reminds somewhat to the pressure put on Denmark a few years ago on the issue of Mohamed cartoons. In a crucial aspect the case is the same: a newspaper publishes something and some freaky Middle Eastern extremist claims to heavens about it. The rest of the details are different.

Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet published a story that tells of Israeli soldiers have repeatedly kidnapped Palestinian youths and returned their bodies days later - the lack of the organs was discovered in the preparations for the funerals. According to the newspaper, the most important of Sweden, these inccidents date back to 1992.

Liebermann, who is widely known for his extremist racist genocidal rantings, accuses the newspaper of "blood libel", whatever that means, and has demanded that the Swedish government intervenes. The foreign minister of Sweden, Carl Bildt (oil magnate and regular of the Bilderberg Group, hence probably a very influential patrician within the Atlantic Empire) has been forced to ratify the right of freedom of speech in Sweden. This in itself is another signal, I understand, of increased, but still limited, clash between important sections of the Zionist Mafia and the more pragmatic elements within the Empire.

The scandal comes to add to the similar and probably connected case in the USA where an organ trafficking network involving influential rabbis and centered in Israel was dismantled by the FBI.

But the Zionists still feel as impune as to openly protest the denounciation of such macabre business as "antisemitism". They do not care at all about the Jewish racism implicit in such operations, so similar to Hitler's disdain for non-German lives, but they claim that anyone denouncing it is a racist. How hypocritical!

Israel is sadly famous now for these organ trafficking schemes but has been for long denounced as a Mecca of female slavery, all protected by the racist laws and powers that govern the controversial country.

Israel is guilty of the crime of apartheid

That is the conclusion of an independent South African committee, enlisted by the Human Sciences Research Council to verify the claims of apartheid in Palestine.

The committee concludes, following international jurisprudence that race is a social construct relative to local perceptions and that, in this sense, Jewish and Palestinian are racial categories in the Near East.

It then goes on to examine Israeli practices on light of the article 2 of the Apartheid Convention.

Finding that:

Section a) Denial to a member or members of a racial group or groups of the right to life and liberty of person.- YES: Israel’s policies and practices include murder, in the form of extrajudicial killings; torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment of detainees (...) All of these practices are discriminatory in that Palestinians are subject to legal systems and courts which apply standards of evidence and procedure that are different from those applied to Jewish settlers living the OPT and that result in harsher penalties for Palestinians.

Section b) Deliberate imposition on a racial group or groups of living conditions calculated to cause its or their physical destruction in whole or in part.- NO: Not satisfied, as the Israel’s policies and practices in the OPT are not found to have the intent of causing the physical destruction of the Palestinian people.

Section c) Measures calculated to prevent a racial group or groups from participation in the political, social, economic and cultural life of the country and the deliberate creation of conditions preventing the full development of such a group or groups.- YES:

i) (...) Restrictions on the Palestinian right to freedom of movement are endemic in the West BankPalestinians living in the West Bank and Gaza Strip are not allowed to visit the other territory and are not allowed to enter East Jerusalem with a pass.

ii) The right of Palestinians to choose their own place of residence within their territory is severely curtailed by systematic administrative restrictions on Palestinian residency and building in East Jerusalem, by discriminatory legislation that operates to prevent Palestinian spouses from living together on the basis of which part of the OPT they originate from, and by the strictures of the permit and ID systems.

iii) Palestinians are denied their right to leave and return to their country. Palestinian refugees displaced in 1948 from the territory now inside Israel who are living in the OPT (approximately 1.8 million people including descendents) are not allowed to return to their former places of residence. Similarly, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians displaced to surrounding states from the West Bank and Gaza Strip in 1967 have been prevented from returning to the OPT. (...) Political activists and human rights defenders are often subject to arbitrary and undefined ’travel bans’, while many Palestinians who travelled and lived abroad for business or personal reasons have had their residence IDs revoked and been prohibited from returning.

iv) Israel denies Palestinians in the OPT their right to a nationality by denying Palestinian refugees from inside the Green Line their right of return, residence, and citizenship in the State (Israel) governing the land of their birth. Israel’s policies in the OPT also effectively deny Palestinians their right to a nationality by obstructing the exercise of the Palestinian right to self-determination through the formation of a Palestinian State in the West Bank (including East Jerusalem) and Gaza Strip.

v) Palestinians are restricted in their right to work (...)

vi) Palestinian trade unions exist but are not recognised by the Israeli government or by the Histadrut (the main Israeli trade union) and cannot effectively represent Palestinians working for Israeli employers and businesses. Although these workers are required to pay dues to the Histadrut, it does not represent their interests and concerns, and Palestinians have no voice in formulating Histadrut policies. (...)

vii) The right of Palestinians to education is not impacted directly by Israeli policy, as Israel does not operate the school system in the OPT, but education is severely impeded by military rule. (...)

viii) The right of Palestinians to freedom of opinion and expression is greatly restricted through censorship laws (...).

ix) Palestinians’ right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association is impeded through military orders. (...) Most Palestinian political parties have been declared illegal and institutions associated with those parties, such as charities and cultural organisations, are regularly subjected to closure and attack.

x) The prevention of full development in the OPT and participation of Palestinians in political, economic, social and cultural life is most starkly demonstrated by the effects of Israel’s ongoing siege and regular large-scale military attacks on the Gaza Strip. Although denied by Israel, the population of the Gaza Strip is experiencing an on-going severe humanitarian crisis.

Section d) Measures designed to divide the population along racial lines by the creation of separate reserves and ghettos for the members of a racial group or groups, the prohibition of mixed marriages among members of various racial groups, the expropriation of landed property belonging to a racial group or groups or to members thereof.- YES:

i) Israel has divided the West Bank into reserves or cantons in which residence and entry is determined by each individual’s group identity. Entry by one group into the zone of the other group is prohibited without a permit. The Wall and its infrastructure of gates and permanent checkpoints suggest a policy permanently to divide the West Bank into racial cantons. Israeli government ministries, the World Zionist Organisation and other Jewish national institutions operating as authorised agencies of the State plan, fund and implement construction of the West Bank settlements and their infrastructure for exclusively Jewish use.

ii) Article 2(d) is not satisfied regarding a prohibition on mixed marriages between Jews and Palestinians.

iii) Israel has extensively appropriated Palestinian land in the OPT for exclusively Jewish use. Private Palestinian land comprises about 30 percent of the land unlawfully appropriated for Jewish settlement in the West Bank. Presently, 38 percent of the West Bank is completely closed to Palestinian use, with significant restrictions on access to much of the rest of it.

Section e) Exploitation of the labour of the members of a racial group or groups, in particular by submitting them to forced labour.- NO: Not significantly satisfied, as Israel has raised barriers to Palestinian employment inside Israel since the 1990s and Palestinian labour is now used extensively only in the construction and services sectors of Jewish-Israeli settlements in the OPT. (...)

Section f) Persecution of organizations and persons, by depriving them of fundamental rights and freedoms, because they oppose apartheid.- YES: Arrest, imprisonment, travel bans and the targeting of Palestinian parliamentarians, national political leaders and human rights defenders, as well as the closing down of related organisations by Israel, represent persecution for opposition to the system of Israeli domination in the OPT, within the meaning of Article 2(f).

Additionally the committee finds the following similitudes of Israeli policies with the three pillars of South African apartheid:

1. Demarcation of South Africans into formal racial groups, with different legal systems applying to each of them (Population Registration Act of 1950).
2. Segregation of these racial groups in separate geographic areas, culminating in the formation of the bantustans (Group Areas Act of 1950 and Pass Laws of 1952-69).
3. Draconian security laws and policies to enforce the system, including extra-judicial killings, torture and degrading treatment.

Israel does all this:

1. It divides the population into Jews, "Israeli Arabs" and Palestinians, privileging naturally the Jewish settlers (and all Jews worldwide are entitled to Israeli citizenship, while the native Palestinians are not). Palestinians are even banned from family reunification if the spouses live in distinct areas under this system.
2. It creates separate areas for Palestinians and Jews, the first with a clear tendency to shrink and the latter to grow. The first fragmented and marginalized and the latter well connected and serviced. It has also segregated East Jerusalem from the rest of the West Bank.
3. It does have, upholds and enforces a series of special laws that allow and encourage brutal and degrading treatment of Palestinians. Torture and extra-judicial killings are the norm, not any exception.

The committee concludes that Israel is guilty of the crime of apartheid.

US gives carte blanche to Israel on Iran

That is what Joe Biden, the US vice-president, declared in a TV interview:

Israel has a sovereign right to decide how to deal with Iran's nuclear ambitions whether the United States agrees or not.

I always find interesting, albeit scary, these kind of declarations in support of the Apartheid regime in Palestine, an illegitimate nuclear power itself, even if that means attacking another state and causing an international crisis of unknown dimensions.

In contrast of those who have raised hopes that the Obama administration could put pressure on Israel to finally solve the regional conflicts, what I see is that behind Obama's smile there is a truly ultra-Zionist apparatus that will support the Zionist regime no matter what, even if maybe trying to show a more amicable face to the World.

It seems that the Zionist racist and nuclear regime has sovereign right, while others like the Palestinian Authority lead by Hamas or Iran, or say North Korea or whatever, do not have any sort of sovereign right whatsoever. If the USA would be fair, all these totalitarian regimes should be treated equally and not give a red carpet to the Zionist regime trying to isolate and boycott the rest.

New trends in the Middle East

A couple of spy stories today at the news. One is placed at Balochistan (and affects Iran and Pakistan) and the other at Lebanon (but has Israel as main affected).

Balochistan.

Let's first see what happens in Balochistan. This country is divided between Iran and Pakistan. The Balochis are a distinct people speaking a distinct language but was not lucky in historical destiny and ended up split between the British and Persian empires. It is recognized as stateless by the UNPO (an popular parallel of the UN founded on ethnicities, not states).

Map (from Wikipedia) showing the main nations of Pakistan. Balochis are in pink.

The news is, as you may know, that two successive attacks have taken place in Western Balochistan (Balochistan-Sistan province of Iran): a mass-murdering bomb against a Shia temple, attributed to US agents by the Iranians, followed by a suicidal attack with automatic guns against an electoral office of Iran's President, M. Ahmadinejad. Both took place at Zahedan, a Balochi city which is capital of the province, placed just near the Pakistani and Afghan border.

It is interesting maybe the claim by Iran that US spies have been behind these attacks, even if they sound to the usual propaganda on first sight. This is because of the analysis that Pepe Escobar have been making at Asia Times Online on the US interests in this country. According to him, the USA may well be demolishing Pakistan and wants an independent Balochistan to become its main regional hub, notably for the gasoduct leading, via Afghanistan into Central Asian riches.

If so, the USA might well be targeting not only Eastern "Pakistani" Balochistan but also Western "Iranian" one, adding this nation to the several that are being used (add Kurds and Iranian Arabs) to weaken, and maybe break to pieces, literally, the troublesome fundamentalist Iran.

Lebanon smashes Zionist spy network.

In an apparently distinct development, the Lebanese armed forces have been these days arresting more than 40 alleged spies of Israel, which would belong to at least a dozen different networks. These do not belong to any specific faction or faith, and Israel has not denied its implication, so it does seem it is for real and not just a political campaign. The operation is still ongoing and it seems that it could include top political figures as well.

This may well have destroyed all or most of the Zionist ability to spy and interfere in Lebanon: it is a huge blow to Israel. This kind of large network needs many years, maybe decades, to be built and its annihilation certainly makes Israel significatively less powerful.

Lebanese authorities claim that the operation was possible because of a "technological breakthrough". Or in other words: they or someone else has probably broken into the Zionist headquarters' computers and accessed top secret data - not just a piece but all or nearly so (and probably not just limited to Lebanon operations - we will surely read more on Mossad networks elsewhere soon, I guess).

The question is: who has managed to do such a feat? Probably not Lebanon itself, not Hizbollah either. Nor it's likely an achievement of Syria or Iran, much less besieged Hamas. Who then? Two main candidates seem more obvious: Russia and China. Both have advanced technology and both could have interest in undermining US influence in the area (and hence Israel's). Russia is probably still angered at Israel messing in Georgia, while China has wide and growing interests in the Middle East, that clash with those of the USA and Israel.

But Russia is as dominated by a pro-Zionist oligarchy as it is the USA and China has in the past benefited from the manipulative games of Israel, which sold Patriot anti-missile technology to Beijing not so long ago. This does not exclude them totally but certainly opens the array of options.

I have at least two other candidates and they are surprising ones: the USA and France. Sounds unlikely but the USA might have taken seriously the "two states solution" and may be upset at Netanyahu's and other Zionists' maneouvers, including the current rejection to stop expansion of settlements in the West Bank or the "treacherous" genocidal campaign against Gaza in the presidential interlude some months ago, which may have irked even people within the Zionist mafia itself (as have only caused increased opposition and awareness against Israel).

France is even more unlikely, notably with Sarkozy (of Jewish ancestors himself) taking such an outstanding pro-Zionist stand as of late. But things are not always what they appear and France has recently shown increased interest in West Asia (where Lebanon and Syria are their "natural" allies).

There are even more potential candidates: Latin American nations like Venezuela or Bolivia (who are tired of fascist-zionist attacks on their soil), Turkey (whose regional policy has been once and again undermined by the Wahsington-Tel Aviv tandem), Pakistan (why not? reasons they do have), North Korea, Saudi Arabia (most unlikely, IMO) and even Qatar (main "pro-democracy" player in the Arab League).

It is a most intriguing story and I guess we will soon know, at least by rumor, who is most likely behind this attack against Israel as regional power - and maybe even why.

Netanyahu playing with fire

The Israeli PM is like asking EU: Bomb us with your ships and airplanes! As you are not doing that, you have no say in your own backyard.

The Zionist leader is trying to push back a suggestion by EU comissioners of freezing any upgrade of EU-Israeli already privileged relationships made in the wake of Israeli genocide in Gaza. He says that EU risks being excluded from further hypothetical negotiations on the Palestinian apartheid conflict.

And I say: EU, do you have what it takes? We have a much greater military power than Israel and certainly can totally exclude those Nazis from our markets and enforce a blockade against them.

I say: exclude Israel from all access to European markets and events until the apartheid is liquidated and democracy is restored in Palestine.

I say: intervene navally to breach the Zionist-Egyptian blockade against Gaza and make sure that humanitarian aid arrives and reconstruction can start. Send a fleet to Tel Aviv waters for the case those cocky Zionazis dare to open their big mouths again.

I say: send back the Zionist ambassadors and all other Zionist spies we can find. Expropiate Zionist property, not just that of Israelis but also that of any pro-Israeli undercover agency.

I say: arm Syria.

I say: make that arrogant bully shut up his big mouth. Who does he think he is? Damn clown!

Shlomo Sand on the invention of the Jewish People

Interesting interview with this Israeli historian that you can read at Rebelión (in Spanish) or at l'Humanité (in French). I know of no English version but I'll translate some excerpts here. He deals with his book When and How Was the Jewish People Invented?

I am very much Israeli, of Jewish origins. My cultural baggage is not European but especially Israeli. My first words of love were in Hebrew! It is very interesting to find out that Zionism does not acknowledge the Israeli people but still talks of "Jewish people", therefore neither Arab nationalism nor Zionism acknowledge the fact that in the Near East a society, a culture, even, it can be said, a new people that speaks a distinct language has arisen.

(...)

The exodus from Egypt never happened. (...) As historical document the Bible is not valid. I began researching when did the Bible became a historical book.

(...)

The first model [of Jewish nationalism] is the idea of the German nation. A national idea that is not republican, that is not civic, that relies on the notion of "where do we come from?" instead of using that of "where do we go from here", like the national ideas of France and the USA.

Therefore a lineal, totally imaginary, national history was created, beginning with the Bible.

(...)

I am not really sure that there was a Judaistic monotheism before the destruction of the Second Temple, before the destruction of the Kingdom of Judea. There are many archaeologists who think that there was never a large Kingdom of Israel. (...) The Bible is nothing but a mobilizing text to create a God-chosen people.

(...)

All children in Israel know that Tito exiled the Jews in the year 70 AD. (...) Can you believe that there is not a single book on the exile? Specialists know therefore that there was never any exile (...)

Ben Gurion, a great Zionist, believed until the late 1920s that the real descendants of the Judeans (term I use in my book) were the Palestinian peasants who never left the country. There were elites who migrated but, as always happens in history, the large masses of food producers never went anywhere.

(...)

So, if Jews were not really exiled, where did they live? I had not paid any attention to the fact that the Kingdom of Judea forced all its neighbours to convert. First by the sword, like any other religion, and then by persuassion too. Judaism proselytized until the triumph of Christianism. Then it became a religion enclosed in itself. (...) Jewishness is not any essence: it is a great religion. (...) I think that the origin of 80% of modern Jews is in Eastern Europe, notably Khazars and Slavs.

(...)

In Israel we have a regime that is deeply undemocratic, because it does not intend to serve the society but to the Jewish ethnicity throught the World.

USA provided the weapons for Gaza massacre

From Voltaire Network:
U.S. shipped 989 munitions containers to Israel week before Gaza invasion.

A German cargo ship, Wehr Elb, transported 14,000 tonnes of munitions from the USA to Israel just a week before that Israeli attack. At least 300 containers were unnloaded at Ashod, a few kilometers north of Gaza, according to Amnesty International, while the Pentagon says all them arrived to Ashod in fact.

Amnesty International is sure that the cargo contained arms and munitions and has a "strong suspicion" that it also contained white phosphorus shells, used by the Zionists to masacre civilians in flagrant violation of Intenrational Law.

Ancient Canaan city razed by Hebrews

There is a news item at Science Daily telling of the finding of a tablet with what appears to be a woman ruler, probably the "Mistress of Lioness" who asked in vain for help to her Egyptian overlords when the area was being plundered by tribes of wandering Hebrews and other peoples in the Late Bronze Age (c. 1350 BCE). In her letter she said that her city was in danger because of the threat of bands of barbarians and rebels.

The city, located west of Jerusalem, was anyhow razed and was later known as Beit Shemesh (Hebrew name) or similar variants, meaning House of Shemesh, the Canaanite Sun goddess.

What I find more interesting anyhow is not in the article though. Beit Shemesh is, following Wikipedia, the first city in the country that shows clear signs of Jewish domination, notably bones of only "kosher" animals, unlike in surrounding cities of the same time. This strongly suggests that Beit Shemesh was one of the first Jewish conquest in the country, what in turn seems to idicate that the barbarians and rebels that the Queen wrote about were no other but the Hebrews. Nearby Jerusalem is only believed to have been conquered centuries later, c. 1000 BCE, by the semi-mythical King David.

The period of the Late Bronze Age and even the very beginnings of Iron Age was one of strife and confusion through all West Eurasia, with the obscure Sea Peoples' pillages, the destruction of Troy and Ugarit, the collapse of the Hittite Empire, the expansion of the Urnfield culture peoples, the vanishment of the oldest and long-lived West European civilization, Zambujal, and also the conquest of Canaan by a bunch of sectarian warlike nomads: the Hebrews.

The Jewish domination of Canaan, later known as Palestine, lasted only about one thousand years. After the Roman conquest and genocidal quelling of revolts, the country was fully integrated into the Eastern Roman Empire, and then conquered by the Muslim Caliphate and various successors. Most of the inhabitants became Christians first and then Muslims and are now known as Palestinians (the bulk of modern Jewish ancestry seems actually to be in the diaspora converts from, especially, Asia Minor and Khazaria instead).

Update (Nov. 2012): see this article on the Jewish and Philistine period (a bit messy, specislly wrong usage of English words like ancestors but still of some interest).
