Former prisioner Lander Fernández was kidnapped last week by ertzainak (Basque autonomous policemen) in plain clothes, who threatened him and asked his collaboration. Yesterday, in the populous neighbourhood of Santutxu, Bilbao, four of them, also in plain clothes, atacked and beat him, causing his internation in a hospital. In the meantime he noticed he was being followed at least once.
This is, apparently, not the first case: other people have suffered similar aggressions in the last year.
