New "consensus" radiocarbon calibration curve

The INTCAL committee has forged a revised and consensual new calibration curve, which was published of Friday
at Science magazine (found via Archaeology in Europe).

A simplified format, useful for reference for amateurs like myself is openly available:

Very roughly, for an even quicker reference: 10,000 BP means 11,500 years ago, 20,000 BP means 23,000 years ago and 35,000 BP is equivalent to 40,000 years ago. Uncalibrated dates are noted as BP, while calibrated dates are usually tagged as calBP (or similar) or even, quite informally, as "years ago". Different calibration curves can bring confusion too and therefore having a single reference curve as this one may be quite important.

It is worth mentioning in this regard the review of this matter of C
14 dates, raw and calibrated, that Julien Riel-Salvatore made a few days ago at A Very Remote Period Indeed, which is very instructive.

Fascist manipulation of time

Today again
our time is being commanded to be altered by the bureaucrats. The reason is not just plainly stupid but also a war measure from the very beginnings of the disciplinary phase of Capitalism. I really do not have to sleep one hour less and mostly ignore the watch altogether but anyhow: what the fuck?!

In fact we should be using here a strict GMT and instead we are using the time of Germany and Poland, plus one extra hour of delay because of this idiotic DST. So in the end we have a totaly distorted time when 12:00 pm is not noon at all but rather early in the morning (would be 10:00 am), so people have their meals at 2 or 3:00 pm.

I just hate all that. Noon is noon and I don't really have to be estimating that noon is at 2:00pm.

Bureaucrats: surrender, your time is long overdue! You can't defeat Nature.
